We recently took the kids to our little public library. 📚 They LOVED it. Leona was silent (very unusual) and Simon was squealing with delight.
The library building was completed in 1931 and is still sporting the original gorgeous light fixtures. 💡

New project! 😁 It doesn't look like much but this will be the site of a very small home. 🏡 You might call it a tiny home but it's attached to the ground (instead of being on wheels) and must comply with all local and national building codes. Our solar shed project continues! 😍 The whole family (including my sister visiting from CA) recently visited Backyard Buildings to design our shed. 👨👩👧👦They're a shed building company owned and operated by the Amish. Once the shed is done, the solar company will bring their materials to Backyard Buildings and install the panels right on the shed. Then the shed is trucked to our house and plopped down on a pad we'll have prepared for just this purpose. We're getting really excited about this project. 👏
There is also a charcuterie shop in this community. Smoked meats and cheeses. SO good. 🤤 🧀

💕 One of the things I love about living in a small town is small government. Our town has a select board, town administrator, lots of committees, a planning board, and of course all the departments (fire dept, water dept, etc).
⏱ Every year we have a town meeting to vote on how our local tax dollars are spent. 💲This year Leona attended (it's held at the local elementary school). I'm excited to teach her that each person can make a difference in their community. 🤗
